It’s been an intense month in the world of D-SLR photography with new camera releases and upgrades from Nikon, Sony, Canon, etc.  Today, Canon released its latest D-SLR, the EOS 50D replacement (after being in the market for about 2 years), the EOS 60D.   This new camera I would say is a major upgrade from its predecessor, the 50D.  With its new articulating screen, you can now be more dynamic with your angled shots.

Other new features also include the Eye-fi enhancement in which photos and videos can now be shared wirelessly over a wi-fi connection.  Also, the 60D contains a 18 MP APS-C CMOS sensor which offer high levels of detail in poster-sized images.  And the feature list goes on and on.  Here they are at a glance:

  • 18 MP APS-C CMOS sensor
  • Advanced creative features with Basic +
  • Vari-angle 7.7cm (3.0”) 3:2 ratio LCD
  • Full HD movies with manual control
  • DIGIC 4
  • ISO 100-6400, H:12800
  • 5.3fps shooting for up to 58 JPEGs
  • 9-point cross type AF System
  • iFCL metering with 63-zone Dual-layer Sensor
  • Integrated Speedlite transmitter
  • In-camera RAW processing
