Lookin’ to get chocolate drunk?! Well I’ve got just the place for you! Max Brenner’s Restaurant offers a unique chocolate experience, and the food is good too. Located by Union Square, this New York City eatery is a great place to have to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. And for those night owls it’s open late. How do I know that? The door to the restaurant says “open 0900 till late”. Max Brenner, a chocolate connoisseur, is trying to create a unique chocolate culture where he attempts to incorporate chocolate in everyday foods.

Max Brenner’s Restaurant offers a classic American menu with steaks, burgers, salads, pastas, etc. My suggestion to get the full experience if this is your first time going would be to share an entrée and a few ala carte items. Any of entrees are good, but if you are having trouble picking an ala carte item, I suggest the Corn Croquette and/or the Black and Tan Beer Battered Visalia Rings with Chocolate Ranch. I know what you are thinking…. Chocolate ranch!? The balance between the beer flavor and the bitter and salty of the chocolate ranch complement each other well.

Once you are done with your savory dishes gear up for their dessert! And guess what is the star on the dessert menu is? That’s right, chocolate! You can order anything from fondue, to crepes, to cake and shakes. However, this is New York City, so the Chocolate Pizza is a no brainer. The pizza is served on a regular pizza crust with a chocolate sauce and you get to choose between marshmallows, peanut butter sauce or bananas as toppings. Or you can do what I did and get “the works” which is all of the above. We only live once, so live it up!
